This message goes out to Lily Llanos circa 7th grade -
Ace of Base was not satanic. Just because they have a song called "The Sign" doesn't mean they ever sang chants to the dark lord.
Just saying.

Ace of Base

Being that this is my first blog EVER, I figured I'd pick a subject you could all relate to - Ace of Base.
The other day, I was driving home and changing radio stations when all of a sudden, I heard lyrics that are sure to make anyone stop right there.
What emotion do these lyrics evoke when you hear them? "I saw the sign, and it opened up my eyes I saw the sign. Life is demanding, without understanding..." Obviously, my first reaction was to blare the radio, the next was to text my cousin Cristina with some lyrics because I had to share this beautiful moment with someone.
The next thing that happened is I got to thinking, what happened to Ace of Base? Did they suffer the same fate as the Real McCoy or C&C Music Factory? I had to find out. And of course, you need to know as well. It's only fair.
Just in case you lived under a rock in the 90's, here's a little Wikipedia exerpt to give you some Ace of Base core knowledge:
Ace of Base is a pop band from Gothenburg, Sweden, comprising Ulf Ekberg (Buddha) and siblings Jonas Berggren (Joker) and Jenny Berggren. They released their debut album in 1993 and went on to sell more than 30 million albums worldwide, topping the charts with hits such as "All That She Wants" and "The Sign".
Here's a little known fact - I had an Ace of Base album that did NOT contain "The Sign". I was a fan. I had the cd that included "Beautiful Life", which was on their 2nd album. So I knew they hadn't dropped off the face of the earth after that first big album. Truth is, they might as well have.
Turns out the group is still pretty popular in Denmark and some other random third world European areas, but in the end, who really cares about what people in Denmark or Sweden are jamming to? I don't, but I still hold a special place in my heart for Ace of Base. No matter what, "The Sign" will always open up my eyes and warm my heart.
If you want to rekindle your love for Ace of Base, Google or Wikepedia them. You know you want to :)

Crazy (that its not open) Pianos
Every day that I am walking past the never opening piano bar....I get a little misty in the eye. This place should be open ..dammiitt. Where in Frankenberry is a Colombian supposed to sing sweet home Alabama while zipping on some miller light. Anybody? I am just going to go to hooters and sing. How do you like that "the man trying to keep me down". You will not keep me down with you cleaver skills and sweet dance moves. On a side random note....dammm today is a nice day out here. I should be outside enjoying the sunshine. Singing out on my ADD side note.
Dom
View from work
This is the view I get at work. Not to shabby for a Colombian. When I get pissed at work I just look a out the window and ...pretty. Now back to work...ohhhh there is a pelican on lake...there goes my concentration for day.

Why Taco Bell Rules
For those of you who know me know that I love mexican food. Not the fancy mexican food that they actually serve in Mexico the real kind that they serve in the good USA. No restarant combines my two favorite things mexican food and not waiting like the good old TB. Where every item on menu is a combination of beef, chicken, and refried beans in either hard or soft shell combines with some sause and catchy name. Uncle Dom Dom likes. The even added a quasi healthy menu ( angels singing). To Mr. Bell...thank you. I'm hungry. I'm going to TB.
